This album started its journey on the North shore of Maui in spring of 2019. While standing in the ocean during a lunar eclipse as the tide went out. As if by magic the lunar disc disappeared and the sound of waves crashing on lava filled air. Standing transfixed, gifted by nature, armed with a microphone and a digital recorder I managed to capture the essence, the spirit of that moment.
Taking field recordings back to my studio I began to listen deeply to the sounds and their story, letting them guide further themes and showing what other sounds were needed to tell their story.
I began to weave the sounds, creating portals for the sounds to flow through, supplying the right sort of sounds for the listener so they could experience an approximation of traveling to this other place.
Similar to the Mystical Sun debut album track "Journey to Samadhi" I used binaural beats, i.e. low frequency pulses that sync the listeners brainwaves and over a forty-five minute period help induce a meditative Theta state in the listener. The remaining fifteen minutes are vast open spaces to explore.
"The Infinite Dive" is a continuous composition that weaves a sparkling web of inner vistas, atmospheres of lysergic wonder and glints of melodic fragments.
Like an aural floatation tank the listener will feel as if they are rising out of the water only to become submerged again.
Take the dive, take the Infinite Dive within. This is the ideal soundtrack for yoga, altered states, relaxation, sleep and meditation.

Volcanoes and U.F.O.'s" was composed as the soundtrack to a science-fiction documentary film about a technologically advanced civilization that existed on Earth during the latter part of the Ice Age 12,000 years ago.
Their art and music, as well as other aspects of their culture, lost to time, vanished leaving little trace of their existence.
By using modern techniques of remote viewing and altered states of consciousness their music and art were accessed and can be enjoyed again today as it was 12,000 year ago.
“Volcanoes and U.F.O.'s” is a hybrid of downtempo, ambient, synthwave, chill and soundtrack styles. This is lushly produced headphone music that you can use as your own cinematic soundtrack.

Synthwave Ambient Downtempo Escapism
The title for this new album is taken from the phenomenon many astronauts experience while viewing the earth while in orbit. The perspective from space induces a cognitive shift in awareness, a deep realization that our concepts of boundaries, nations and races are meaningless, we are all one.
Difficult to achieve this shift in thinking while earthbound, it has nonetheless become very important that humanity come to this realization before the Doomsday Clock reaches midnight.
This album act is a catalyst, let the tones and textures take you outside of yourself and possibly bring about the same cognitive shift in your perspective.
The "Overview Effect" is both a statement and a tool. Take the energy contained within the statement and use it as a tool, one that helps to dissolve boundaries location in both inner and outer space. We are all one.
The sounds embedded here were carefully constructed by laying down an earthy foundation of beats, hypnotic note sequences and pads generated by analog, modular and digital synths then adding a layer of interstellar.

Ambient Downtempo Delights
“Altitude” is the latest album by Mystical Sun whose work has provided the listener with wide, sweeping other worldly soundscapes for over two decades.
This new album, comprised of 8 tracks was conjured from late night improvisations on a custom-built modular synthesizer, processed guitar and Euclidian rhythmic algorithms, later distilling this into a dreamlike soundtrack for psychic journeys. Each track contains within it sub-movements of sonic explorations to further the evolving audio narrative.
Mystical Sun's work over the past two decades has often been hailed as “ethereal and dreamy,” “thought provoking,” “sonic bliss” and “auditory adventures” by many reviewers of ambient music.
With this album Mystical Sun continues to bring us along to places we find in our unconscious via the portal of his music. Composed in Hawaii in Kapoho bay.

Field recordings of the Hawaiian Islands
The Hawaiian islands are home to myriad topical habitats all of which are brimming with lush fauna and a cacophony of natural sounds. "Island Lifeforms" is the ultimate Hawaii nature sounds recording.
The field recordings used on "Island Lifeforms" were all recorded with a hand held digital recorder, a condenser microphone and a hydrophone and feature the sounds of native frogs, birds, humpback whales alongside the environmental sounds of rainstorms, the ocean, burbling streams and magnificent waterfalls.
The album contains three sonic explorations of Hawaii. The first two tracks: “Lush Days” and “Balmy Nights” take the listener on a journey into the jungle regions and the sounds of life found there. The third track, titled “Humpback Whales in Love” experiments with pitching the sounds of the humpback whale up into the frequency range of the human voice and foregrounds it as if it were a human singer.
Recorded January 2017 on location in Kapoho Bay, Puna, Pohoiki Bay, Volcanoes National Park, Hilo, Kona, Pu'uhonua O Hōnauna, Kohala coast, Pu'u Keka'a and Kāʻanapali.

October 16, 2018 update: in the time since the Kilauea eruption of recent months some of the locations audio documented are lost to the world forever. Particularly Kapoho Bay which plays a big part in “Balmy Nights.” The rain of the tin roof of a shack and night frogs and jungle insects are from there. If one listens attentively you can hear Kapoho Bay waves at night.
Entire ecosystems lost to volcano
“The humid, rainy forests in Puna were an important habitat for native Hawaiian trees, birds and insects, Hart said. Chartreuse-colored ‘amakihis and bright red ‘apapanes rested on trees, Hawaiian hawks soared through the air, and dragonflies, butterflies and crickets all made the forest their home.”
"Panoramic” is comprised of five movements was conjured from late night improvisations on a custom-built modular synthesizer, processed guitar and Euclidian rhythmic algorithms, later distilling this into a dreamlike soundtrack for psychic journeys. Each movement contains within it sub-movements of sonic explorations to further the evolving audio narrative.

All things including human beings and synthesizers owe their existence to matter forged within the hearts of ancient stars and eventually dispersed into the universe after exploding as supernovas. "Music for Supernovas” plays with this idea on multiple levels by creating music for supernovas by supernovas. Traveling in deep space we will encounter on the higher electromagnetic frequency bands sounds such as these produced by celestial bodies.
On "Music for Supernovas” Mystical Sun exclusively uses modular synthesizers as they allow for organic sound design with an infinite sonic palette.
All life owes it’s existence to matter formed in the hearts of ancient suns that went supernova. In essence we are all created from supernovas. Music for Supernovas is a collection of deep ambient journeys created on modular synthesizers that explore our ancient past as parts of celestial beings.

Core sees Mystical Sun return to deep ambient music and this time sans a computer. The creation process for Core is based around the extensive use of modular synthesizers captured live. Core is a continuous hour long track created as a seamless journey.
Epic pulsating, fabrics of sound transmitted from another dimension. Surrealist abstract soundscapes that are deep and transforming. Sounds morph into new forms in a continuous flow.

Incredible. Next level ambient, pulsing with organic grooves. He's got a great catalog, but this is the capstone on the pyramid of his sonic canon." -Robert Pheonix
Legendary artists who make psychedelic dub, ambient and downtempo music have been re-emerging with outstanding works and Mystical Sun is one of them with his first album in 3 years, made with an intentional 2012 release for Earthdance Music.
The result is a journey to a place of tropical beaches, rainforests and islands where you sip Kava and take the moment in.
26000 does not include one preset sound, every sound is crafted from live instrumentation and then molded into intricate percussive, atmospheric and nature sounds by design. The sound can be said to be a blend of Future Sound Of London, Ulrich Shnauss, Shpongle and H.U.V.A. Network, lightly stirred and epically etheric.
The often elusive Mystical Sun is no stranger to success, having had over two million track downloads from his first album, his ‘Energy Mind Consciousness ‘ and ‘Deeperworlds’ album being ‘album of the year’ on Echoes Radio and still regulars on the eMusic Downtempo charts.
With an ever growing fan base through his years of releases on compilations for the worlds leading downtempo, dub and chillout labels. What we do know is that his ever evolving explorations in sound design and recreation / re-molding of micro genres to suite his own ends, makes listening to a Mystical Sun album a full journey, a deep place to be, but always warm and with resolution

Psybient subsonic mission into the unknown – 11 new tracks that explore different genre fusions. Imagine ambient, electronic, downtempo, shoegaze, dub and dubstep influences mixed in an hour long ambient journey. On EMC, it’s about the atmospheres and soundscapes; music for voyaging into the unknown.
“Dune Oscillator” is a vast desert chiller with electric sitar and dub fx. “Blue Lotus” is playful, melodic and deep. “Departure” feels moody and shoegazey. “Passage” and “Holographic Rain” are related to invisible landscapes. “Protostar” is an epic galactic level electric sitar dub with transcendent synth voxes. “Lava Tubes” is a tribal subsurface rhythm flowing in and out. Transitioning “Incense” signals the beginning of an experience. “Dark Energy” and “Expansions” become cosmic twins in space. “Sanctuarium” closes the album in cadence.

What people are saying about Deeperworlds:
“A world class effort… this is one great CD. Deeperworlds never disappoints the listener with each track building on the last and leaving you with a complete picture. Highly recommended.”
- Ambient Visions
“While we’re here my favorite ambient album of the year: Mystical Sun Deeperworlds. Inventive programming, cut & paste surrealism, surging, almost anthemic grooves and deceptively haunting melodies.”
- John Diliberto, Echoes Radio
“Mystical Sun manages to take the listeners on a subtle journey through ambient, dub, abstract visions, and even upbeat progressive grooves all suspended in an aqueous transmission. A very pleasant surprise.”
- Decompression Chamber
“Utterly fantastic, like nothing else! Deeperworlds is a perfect and inspired title for this collection. The songs are arranged to flow, but each track definitely shifts dimension into another sphere. Mystical Sun has an excellent sense of the Build and the Break, which is rare in ambient and downtempo music. Interestingly manages to sound futuristic and tribal at the same time. Lush guitars, synths, and percussion fill all space, gradually dropping out towards the end of the album to float in shimmering peace. I really enjoy the entire album journey, it’s hard to pick just a few, but if you’re singles-shopping I’d recommend ‘Blue Magnetic Ocean’, ‘Ninth Sphere’, and ‘Dragonfly’.”
- Monsteraurus
“ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY TOPNOTCH RELEASE FROM FAIRLY MYSTERIOUS SYNTHESIST – You say the new Mystical Sun is coming out and I say, “I’m there”. That’s how it is. This is only the third release, and with 5-6 year intervals between discs (the first two aren’t dated, so I’m estimating): the first, Primordial Atmospheres in the mid-90s, and the second, After Materia Cloudland, which must have been around 2001. This artist takes time to craft very remarkable technoambient recordings with strong shamanistic and magickal properties. reclusive and wise. Mystical Sun has released sonic jewel after sonic jewel, may it continue forever, so be it.
This album starts with some highly intelligent high energy pieces that are in the electrodub general domain but really only Phutreprimitive comes close. This really is in its own peculiar world that can’t be easily described. owing some to Native American shamanism, some to the Egyptian current. Mystical Sun is sort of like the Castanedan Don Juan of Electro. Serious.
The latter part of the album becomes very electronic and ambient, but this disc really does work the areas of Shamanic Power. 14 tracks move adept through regions of the Underworld that provide deep Insight to intrepid explorers with the courage to go deep within.”
- `Visionary Sound Arts Interface` Review
“The quality is there, the variety is there, and the feeling is there. It fits together, and still gives me goosebumps while listening to some tracks. “Pure” is definitely one, but “Halo” is another one that combines everything in just the right way to be simply perfect…lush, melodic, dreamy melodies and nice laidback rhythms.”
- Electronic Music World
“Chilled instrumental electronica with rich layering and serene atmospheres… the overall impression is one of tranquility and unhurried easiness. Mystical Sun leans in the direction of cinematic soundscaping, world influences tinting the sound with a colourful exotica at times – yet always with tasteful subtlety.”
- Morpheus Music
“It’s a world that’s warm, inviting, and unlike anything that every day life can give you, and ‘Deeperworlds’ is a perfect name for it.”
- Properly Chilled
